The Origin of The Ultimate Remedy

The Ultimate Remedy has its roots in the lifelong spiritual journey, humanitarian mission, and research of Qalandar Pak (RA), Hazrat Makhdoom Syed Safdar Ali Bukhari.

At the heart of his work was a profound concern for human suffering. He sought to understand not only the difficulties affecting the physical body, but also the deeper relationship between the body, mind, heart, and soul.

An Earlier Stage of the Research

Qalandar Pak’s research developed over many years and passed through different stages before becoming centered on listening to the Divine Message.

During an earlier phase, he explored the possible effects of music and Dhamaal (a spiritual devotional dance) on the human being. His interest was not simply in music itself, but increasingly in what happens when sound is received with complete attention and concentration.

In an account from 1997, while discussing this work, Qalandar Pak spoke about the relationship between listening, concentration and frequency. He explained that when a person becomes completely absorbed in listening, the frequency of what is being heard reaches the listener and produces its effect.

He also referred to what he called “radiation,” and at one point told those present that he would demonstrate how a Faqeer radiates.

These ideas offer an important glimpse into the questions Qalandar Pak was exploring at that stage: how deeply focused listening affects the human being, what role concentration plays in receiving sound, and how an inner or spiritual influence may be transmitted.

His work with music and Dhamaal attracted considerable attention, but it also faced strong criticism and opposition.

Over time, however, his research took a decisive direction.

Qalandar Pak explained that although the possibilities he had explored through Dhamaal and music had been demonstrated through his work, their acceptance among people remained limited. He therefore decided that the work should proceed through the Divine Message.

This marked an important turning point in the journey that would eventually lead to The Ultimate Remedy.

Discovering the Power of Deep Listening

As the research moved toward the Divine Message, one principle remained central:

how a person listens.

Qalandar Pak emphasized that the Divine Message should be listened to with complete attention and yaksooi—an inward state of focused concentration.

As he expressed it:

“Listen to Surah Al-Rehman with complete attention and concentration, with the ears of the heart—as though the Divine Words are descending upon your heart.”

The listener was therefore not being asked simply to hear a recitation, but to become still, remove distractions, close the eyes, and receive the Divine Message with the heart fully attentive to the Creator.

His research eventually placed particular emphasis on Surah Al-Rehman, the chapter whose very name invokes the all-embracing Mercy of the Creator.
